Solution Oriented Family Therapy

A one day introduction
In this 1 day workshop we will explore simple elegant methods to create a solution mood, and generate new ways for families to be together. The focus will be on those elements beyond technique that are common to all therapies that account for effectiveness, and we will explore how we as therapists can actively generate these essential ingredients of therapy.

This interactive workshop emphasises demonstration and practice over lecture presentation so that participants can expect to be able to use the learning from this learning experience in their practice immediately, and confidently.

An Introduction to the Ericksonian Approach
Topics will include:-
   •   the nature and experience of hypnosis
   •   the language of hypnosis
   •   therapeutic metaphor and
   •   the induction and utilisation of the hypnotic experience.

An Introduction to the Solution Orientation

Participants will be offered:-
   •   explanations of theoretical and practical issues related to the latest developments in the field;
   •   maps to more effectively negotiate the process of engaging the client in their therapeutic process;
   •   demonstrations and supervised practice to gain confidence generating effective solutions with clients, whether face to face or in telephone conversations.
